How to Launch a Loyalty Program in 1 Day: Full Checklist
A working loyalty program can be launched in 1 day — if you have a plan and don’t waste time on unnecessary decisions. This article gives you an hour-by-hour checklist so by evening you have a full live loyalty program: signup flow, QR codes, table assets, trained staff, and your first member registrations.
What to prep the day before
Not much — but don’t spend the morning on it:
- Laptop or tablet (with internet)
- Phone (for testing)
- Printer (or access to a print shop)
- Business basics (name, logo file, address, hours)
- 3-5 reward ideas (see below)
That’s it.
The schedule
9:00 – 9:30 | Platform signup
Register at Revino or your chosen platform. The 7-day free trial means zero cost today.
Fill in:
- Business name, address
- Logo upload
- Opening hours
- Primary category (café, restaurant, salon, other)
End state: A live guest-accessible account reachable by QR code.
9:30 – 10:30 | Program type and rewards
Decide on the program type:
Points system (most common):
- Y points per X €/HUF spent
- Points redeemable for rewards
Stamp card (simplest):
- 10 coffees → 1 free
- No tiers, no points
Tier system (richer):
- Bronze → Silver → Gold levels
- Better rewards at higher tiers
Tip: Start with points. Most flexible, and tiers can be added later.
Reward ideas:
| Level | Point cost | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Small | 100-200 pts | Free coffee or pastry |
| Medium | 400-600 pts | 20% off |
| Large | 1,000+ pts | Free main, dessert box |
10:30 – 11:30 | Test the signup flow
Important — don’t skip this!
Test:
- Scan the main QR on your own phone
- Go through signup end-to-end as a guest
- Claim a test reward
- Try the staff app (“scan”)
Watch for: How many steps? Every field clear? Any awkward wording?
11:30 – 12:00 | Break + coffee ☕
Seriously. Don’t power through — after 5 straight hours, quality drops.
12:00 – 13:30 | Physical assets
What to print:
| Asset | Location | Size |
|---|---|---|
| Table card with QR | Every table | A6 stand |
| Counter sticker | At checkout, visible | A5 |
| Window poster | At entrance | A3-A2 |
| Staff cheat sheet | Under the counter | A4 (both sides) |
| Referral card | At checkout, handed out | Business card size |
Sample table card text:
“Earn points with every order! 🎁 Scan the QR, sign up in 30 seconds. First order: -20% off.”
No printer? Express online printing is 2-4 hours.
13:30 – 14:30 | Staff training
This is the critical part. If staff can’t use it, the program is dead.
Minimum training (45 min):
- How to scan a guest’s QR (5 min, hands-on)
- What to do if the guest isn’t registered (5 min)
- How to correct a wrong transaction (5 min)
- How reward redemption works (10 min)
- How to explain it briefly to a guest (10 min — role-play!)
- Common guest questions (10 min)
Tip: Give them a 1-page cheat sheet to keep under the counter. Top 3-5 situations on it.
14:30 – 15:30 | Soft launch: first live hour
Launch — but communicate only internally for now, don’t blast social media yet.
Staff job: Mention it to every guest:
“We just launched our loyalty program — scan the QR, get 50 welcome points.”
You watch:
- How long does a signup take? (target: < 1 min)
- What’s the reaction? (questions, friction)
- Is staff confident? In flow?
If anything’s off: fix it now, not in the evening.
15:30 – 16:00 | First review and fine-tuning
Check:
- How many signups in the first hour?
- Where does the flow get stuck?
- Any confusing copy?
Fix wording, card placement, anything that needs it.
16:00 – 17:00 | First automations
Set at least 2 automations:
-
Welcome push to new members (1 hour after signup):
“Welcome to {Shop} Club, {Name}! 🎉 Your 50 welcome points are ready. 150 points to your first reward — come earn them!”
-
Birthday campaign (if supported — Revino does):
“Happy birthday, {Name}! 🎂 A free dessert is waiting for 14 days.”
These reward attachment with zero ongoing effort.
17:00 – 18:00 | Official launch communication
Social posts:
Facebook/Instagram (main):
“We launched! 🎉 Starting today: loyalty program at {Shop}. Sign up, earn points, redeem gifts. First 50 signups: +100 welcome points. QR in the window, on tables, or: [link]”
Story: Short clip of a team member scanning the QR and showing how to sign up.
Google Business Profile post:
“Our loyalty program is live. Earn points on every order. -20% on your first coffee.”
18:00 – 19:00 | Close out and plan tomorrow
End-of-day:
- Total signups?
- Which channel brought them? (window? table? staff mention?)
- Any technical issues?
Tomorrow’s goal: Steady activity + continuous new signups.
What to expect in week 1
For a small café (~100 guests/day), typical numbers:
| Day | New signups (cumulative) | Active members |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | 25-40 | 25-40 |
| Day 3 | 60-90 | 50-75 |
| Week 1 | 120-180 | 95-140 |
| Month 1 | 350-500 | 250-380 |
Lower than that? Usually staff isn’t actively mentioning it — the most common problem.
The 5 most common day-1 mistakes
1. Flow not tested
Always walk through it yourself — on 2 different phones. Don’t let your guest find the bug.
2. Staff isn’t prepared
Shorten the training if needed — but they must practice it. Without role-play, they won’t speak confidently to guests.
3. No physical assets
Without digital “presence” the guest won’t notice you have a program. Table QR + window poster are non-negotiable.
4. Reward system too complex
5 tiers, 20 rewards — nobody will understand. Start with 3 tiers and 3-5 rewards.
5. No welcome automation
Member signs up, forgets the program exists. Automated push in hour 1 = 65%+ activation in 30 days.
